As a Retirement Benefits Professional, I'm concerned that the high unemployment rate is causing many people to deplete their retirement savings just to keep a roof over their heads. This is unacceptable and my mission is to do everything within my power to change this.
When my position was eliminated due to the economy, my employer provided transition services through an outplacement consulting firm. I’ve had access to many job search resources that have helped me with resume writing, interviewing and the job search process. My severance package has provided me with time to read books, attend seminars, workshops and job networking groups. Many unemployed workers don't receive outplacement assistance and do not have access to quality job search information. I have started a blog called Job Searching Lessons Learned as a method of sharing valuable information with other job searchers in the hopes that it might expedite landing a new position.
I landed an awesome position as a Senior Benefits Analyst at Essilor of America, Inc. in Dallas, TX in August of 2009. This will enable me to continue working with retirement benefits and expand my experience into other employee benefits areas. I have maintained contacts with a lot of former coworkers who are currently unemployed. If you need to fill an open employee benefits position, I may be able to refer you to some top notch candidates.
Please share my blog link with everyone you know who is unemployed. Together we can help many people find gainful employment. http://rosewaltz.wordpress.com/
